Building Bridges Training are a social enterprise of people with a learning disability who are providing free one-day training events designed to help churches become friendly places for those with a disability.
The Celebration House Family Choir from Caminul Felix Children’s Home, Romania are about to embark once more on a tour of local churches beginning with the Albion Street Church in Brierley Hill on Tuesday 16th April and going through to Sunday 21st at Eve Lane in Upper Gornal.
Just over a month ago, following on from the momentum of last year’s National Day of Prayer, the Joining of the Dots Celebration tour was launched in the surroundings of Parliament with a number of key Christian MP’s and over 150 activists and church leaders.
Dan Parkes is to be the Principal of the region’s first Studio School & Sixth Form in Walsall. The School has a new approach to education bringing learning and enterprise together and presents a real opportunity for local churches who want to help their young people engage in community enterprise.
At the beginning of March over 100 people slept rough in freezing temperatures in support of homeless young people across the Black Country.
CEO of YMCA Black Country Group, Steve Clay said: “Knowing that some young people do this every night and can’t go home to a shower and their own bed was the thing that helped me keep going through the night. At 3am when it’s cold, dark and quiet it certainly makes you realise how fortunate you are.”
