We do hope that you are doing well. This is such a wonderful time of year for me as the light nights settle upon us and we begin to get used to being warmer and generally more upbeat as the strange creatures we are!
But how much God loves us.
It rarely ceases to amaze me how weird people are to be honest, and recent times have revealed my own innate odd humanity too. We do the strangest things, imagine the craziest scenarios and worry about the most ludicrous situations that could never happen even if we were the most unfortunate people in history.
Yet, how much The Father adores us.
As I stoop over my 2 year old's bed every single night with the deepest and sincerest affections for my wonderful offspring, it rarely ceases to utterly amaze me how much I would do for the smelly little rascal, and whether he has amused me, abused me or accused me, my love just never wavers. I just want to squeeze him and have him know how special he is (even when he honks!).
How much more does YOUR Heavenly Father love you?
But this has to move beyond the spectrum of head knowledge, or the ability to quote a scripture, albeit verbatum, and even if you know how many of the synoptic gospels this is recorded in, can quote chapter and verse and sing it in Latin, it matters not a jot!!
How much are you loved?
The answer to this question is not formed in words, or how hard you try to convince yourself of what you should say in response to this most basic of human questions. The key is that you know in your deepest experience who your Father is, and you walk out your knowledge of Him next time you face a crisis, feel the temptation to worry or fall into despair, or simply doubt that He is actually there. He IS.
How great is the love that The Father has lavished on us, that we might be called the children of God. FOR THAT IS WHAT WE ARE.
Oh wow! What an amazing statement (RECORDED IN JOHN'S FIRST LETTER). This is our new nature. We have been utterly and totally transformed. The reality of this is not temporal, visible or emotional, for these realms will one day perish.
This is not what we think, what we feel or what we have been taught.....THIS IS WHAT WE ARE by nature!
We may enot understand it, we may not grasp it, and we may not feel it right now, but do we trust our own understanding, or even worse, our feelings/emotions OVER and above God's eternal Word?
This is what we are! This is WHO we are!
Oh wow! I am a child of God. I am therefore a Prince. I am an heir. But as Paul wrote to the Christians in Galatia, as long as the heir is a child, we are no different to a slave, even though we own the whole estate. Why?
To access what we are, we need to know who we are, and this means that we obtain the credit to spend in The Kingdom, here on earth. This is what is recorded of Abraham. He believed what God said, and he was given credit. Why are we given credit? Credit is only good for one purpose.......to aquire!
I could ramble al night long, as many of you know, but I'll park it there, as whilst these thoughts are not the deepest you'll ever read, they require much revelation and inner desire to aquire.
Creation itself is longing to see the revelation of God's SONS on the earth......that's you and me folks. We are the people we've been waiting for. You are the answer to most of your prayers.
The Black Country awaits this revelation too, as she looks on anxiously awaiting a vision of Jesus' Body here on earth in the 21st century. "What will He look like?", she asks, and history will record what she sees by how she responds.
As with any other generation since the first disciples, the responsibility for this lies with us, not with The Father. He has shown us all He can in Christ, and now He asks that we reflect His true nature in our communities, through our lives and by our walk.
This is the truest version of what it really means "to bring Him glory". It's a bit tougher and riskier than swaying in time and singing loudly!
Come on Church, let's shine more than we have ever done before. Come on Body of Christ, let us rise up with a fervour and passion for Him and for the lost that has never been seen before in these here parts.
The Black Country awaits us. Yet, unless we truly grasp this most basic of spiritual facts, we may sadly repeat the mistakes of yesteryear, and hundreds of thousands of dear dear souls may also perish, even though The Perfect Father hovered over their dwellings every night brooding and seeking to demonstrate His love, passion and affection for them, yet was without hands to hold, lips to kiss and a Body to envelop them in
How great is The Father's love for us, and them?
Love,
Tim

GDOP - Global Day of Prayer - 31st May 2009
We have encouraged you all to connect to this rapidly growing phenomenon for a few years now, and over 300 million believers worldwide connect on one day to pray for this precious planet. There are gatherings, events and the like of all types all over the world on this day, and we have adopted a borough approach as The Black Country in recent times.
Here's Sandwell's version below, and please contact us for news in your area or borough relating to this;
Sandwell – Global Day of Prayer II Sunday May 31st West Bromwich Town Hall 6pm
SIX SUNDAYS TO GO – PLEASE PROMOTE!
Please come and please bring your congregation so that TOGETHER we can pray and seek God’s face.
I hope you are all well! It does not seem yesterday since we had our first Sandwell Global Day Of Prayer in May last year. We prayed into lots of situations local and global. As local leaders we all feel this would be good to do again but it would also be good to get a few testimonies of what God has done over this last year. If you know of anyone or if your church has seen God do some amazing things due to prayer/breakthroughs etc. If you could let me know, it would be great to include some testimonies on the night.
Iain Hesketh from West Brom and I felt it would be good to gather a few local leaders to pray on top of one of the highest points in Sandwell, a place called Bury Hill in Rowley to hear God’s heart for our borough. Those of us that were mad enough, met together one Monday earlier this month to pray. It is an amazing view where you can literally see all of Sandwell. From this high point you do not see the lines that divide us ie town boundary lines, you see ONE Sandwell, the way that God sees it. This was a great launch pad for Sandwell Global Day of Prayer II. I am in the process of gathering the words that God gave us to share with you all on the night.
PLEASE let us join as one voice to pray into our borough that desperately needs Jesus, that desperately needs His church. It would be great to see West Bromwich town Hall full, not for numbers sake, but for the sake of encouraging one another, supporting one another, seeing the bigger picture of what God is doing and joining together our fragmented borough which sadly is not too dissimilar at times to the Church! We are all placed strategically in neighbourhoods, towns doing great pieces of work, but for one night I beg you let us come together to proclaim Jesus as King and to seek his face for the people of Sandwell.
I am more than happy to come and promote the night at your congregation, please let me know if you would like me to do this ASAP so that I can fit it in.
Thanks for your time, I know it’s a ramble but hopefully, like me you want to see your little bit of Sandwell transformed, not just physically but spiritually, and if we join all that together…

“Fishing in a Small Pool”
Date: 6th May 2009
Time: 10.00 – 14.00
Venue: Alpha House, Tipton Street, Sedgley, West Midlands, DY3 1HE
Key Questions:
1. What are the issues and barriers to recruiting a workforce who will be ambassadors for your mission?
2. How do you think ACE can support you with the solutions to your barriers?
David Bendor Samuels – David is the Corporate Affairs Director of Prospects. Prospects deliver distinctly Christian services to people with learning disabilities. David is also the vice chairman of Church for All which is a consortium of Christian disability charities. David is married with two young children.
Paul Lindsay - Paul is Executive Director of Christian Vocations (CV).
CV exists to provide:
- personnel recruitment for Christian charities, churches and businesses

and service
CV works for and with hundreds of organisations and is probably the UK’s leading Christian agency for personnel recruitment.
Brian Dash – Brian comes from an agricultural background where he managed farms, often organising large teams of workers. Having become a Christian in his teenage years, he has always been committed to a local church where he gravitated to leadership positions. To compliment this he also represents an Ecumenical Schools Work Trust in the Lichfield. In January 2004 Brian put down the church leadership role and spent the next 3 years training in Mentoring, Supervision and the Integrated Coaching Process. He also established his own company which uses his resource in a number if different areas. His portfolio of clients includes pastors, head teachers, educational workers and a range of private clients. Currently he works on a part time basis for the Saltmine Trust as its Operations Director. This includes the practical leadership and management of 27 staff plus volunteers. He is also back in a leadership role within his local church and has an expanding teaching and preaching ministry to compliment the one on one work he undertakes.
This event will be looking at the issues surrounding recruitment within the our sector.

MISSION AND COMMUNITY May 12th 2009
Andrew Roberts - Fresh Expressions Team
Zion Christian Centre
What is the session about? In this session the team will help us to take a fresh look at the communities we serve and ask ourselves is who we are relevant to the people we are attempting to reach. In this session we will look at three models of mission and there effectiveness.
Attractional – This is asking people to come and join the activities you already have in place. Alpha etc.
Engaging – Activities that touch a community, works of service etc. This remains a come and visit us model.
Emerging – This is starting in the community and staying the community. Planting
something new that people can connect to.
This is the main area of mission that we will be looking at on this day.
Who is Andrew Roberts?
Andrew worked for Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst before entering training for the Methodist ministry in 1988. KIDS STUFF
DOUG HORLEY VISIT TO WOLVERHAMPTON - JULY 18TH
Calling all those with a passion for children's ministry!
A bunch of children's workers met for a coffee in Starbucks Wolverhampton and out of it came a hunger and a vision to resource children's workers, whether paid or voluntary, across Wolverhampton as well as provide an event that is relevant and exciting for children! By working together we can learn from each other as well as resource each other.
So far the churches involved are St Jude's, St Phil's, St Jo's and St Bart's but we would love others to be involved, whatever denomination, whether you have 5 children or 50 we would like to hear from you!
Planning is very much in its early stages. We have booked Doug Horley to come and lead the main children's event in the early evening as well as run an afternoon training session for children's workers/leaders/helpers on Kids' Worship. The date is the 18th July and the venue is yet to be confirmed. It promises to be an action packed day where as part of the main event the kids will also have a chance to do workshops such as breakdancing, puppets, circus skills or chill out in a quiet corner. There's something for everybody.
If you would like to know more or be part of the planning we are meeting together on the 17th March, 8-9:30pm at St Joseph's C of E Church, Coalway Road, Merry Hill. Or if you have any further questions please contact Jo Godfrey, on 01902 752542 or email Liz Pemberton on mailto:liz@saintjosephs.co.ukPlease RSVP if possible if you'd like to come to the planning meeting.
We hope that you will join with us as we seek to grow together. Our long term aim is to see the Wulfrun Hall full of children praising God with children and families from across Wolverhampton , One body, many parts!

Rodney Howard-BrowneRodney and his wife, Adonica, travel 46 weeks of the year under the banner of Revival Ministries International, holding weekly meetings in cities across North America and around the world. They also pastor a church in Tampa, Florida, The River at Tampa Bay, which they founded on December 1, 1996 and which now has 3000 members. In 1997, they started the River Bible Institute, training students in the Word and the Spirit, imparting into their hearts both a spirit of evangelism and of revival. Rodney and Adonica burning passion is to see souls saved and lives touched. Their commission from the Lord is to "Stir up the churches and tell them to get ready for the coming revival." Rodney and Adonica feel that God has called them to teach the body of Christ, by example, how to create an atmosphere in the church, through the worship of Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so that the presence of God can be made welcome and so that He can touch His children as He sees fit.

"Father & Sons" in June
Hi,
My bags are packed ready to fly out to South Africa tomorrow to join close on 200,000 other guys on a Farm in Kwa Zulu Natal for MMC 2009.
In June you have the opportunity to be present at a similar event in the UK – all the details are on the website, just follow the links to Father & Sons.
MMC started from humble beginnings a few years ago.
When we started out on this journey our plans included a 2,000 seater tent – when we get back from SA at the end of the month we shall have to decide whether we need a bigger tent. We have approaching 1,000 guys already booked.
Please give serious thought to who you can bring and get your booking form off the website and return it asap.
There is no charge and the need is great in this nation for the men to realise who they are in Christ – so come on guys – do it!
See you in June
Richard
ps MMC 2009 will be broadcast from South Africa next weekend on God Channel if you want a taste of things to come!
Living Springs news
We were wondering if through your contacts in The Net you may know of someone who may like to purchase a Jack Leg Portacabin (32ft by 10ft). Clean and carpeted inside, recently had the roof repaired so it is watertight, heat and light, windows all around and door.
We have used it for a classroom and a contact room during the past four years but now we can longer have planning permission (because we’re in the greenbelt) and we need to move it on asap..
We would like to be able to use funds from its sale to launch a mini farm project for the community (potentially excluded children)
If you could pass this around, we would be most grateful and ask them to get in touch with Julie on 01384 872817.We are looking for £1100 plus the cost of removal (transport and crane within a 150 mile radius)) £550. Total £1650.
Many Thanks
Julie

“COULD YOUR CHURCH HOST A MUSICAL?”

We hope that lots of churches will host this musical, it would make an excellent ecumenical celebration, or a special outreach event as part of a community festival or mission programme.
The musical is free to put on any Saturday or Sunday during 2009 (hoping your date is available) – we would ask the host Church to encourage any of its singing groups (all ages) to be involved for one night only – they would be asked to attend rehearsal prior to the performance starting – also we ask for a collection basket at the end of the performance or a small gift for Share Jesus International, who are the producers of the musical.
If you are interested and would like more information, please contact: Janet Berrill 07890121339 or Wendy Baker 07786352457 or email: janetberrill@btconnect.com

Centrepoint Streets Project - West Bromwich
To Friends, Family and Christian Brethren,
Over the last ten years of so, Centrepoint Christian Church has held, almost annually, a Summer Play scheme/Holiday Club Project for the hard to reach and marginalised children and youth within our area.
We have been able to attract funding for these programmes largely through local and national government funding. Due to the economic downturn our normal sources of revenue have dried up and we are having to look for other funding streams to raise the capital required to host normally a six weeks programme over the summer holidays. Our project normally attracts over 50 children and teenagers most of whom come from low income families, many from broken homes. These are not ordinary kids, last years theme was "Guns, Drugs and Gangs" and many of them already had experiences of each of the topic areas. Over the weeks we are able to unpack the gospel message, share Christ's Love and sow the message of Hope and establish relationships we can build on the remainder of the year.
Normally we are able to attract between £4000-5000 to fund the project which includes venue hire, equipment, transport costs etc..
We don't spend it on trips to Alton Towers etc.. but we hold daily planned sessions around themes using multi-media, performing arts, visiting speakers, and yes arts and crafts, and also take groups out for example hiring bikes and cycling in the countryside, walking under the longest canal tunnel in the UK, hill walking over the Malvern Hills etc.. experiences these kids don't normally have access to.
To help us raise the the funds we need for this year, my son Peter and one of my church elders Myles Wilson, are going to do a sponsored walk over Hadrian's Wall. All funds raised to go to the Summer School Project.
Would you be kind enough to promote this sponsored event amongst your friends, church members, work mates etc. We would be most grateful.
Should you be able to help us, any donations or gifts to be made payable to "Centrepoint Streets Project" and sent for the attention of :
Mrs Tracey Hay Centrepoint Christian Church P.O. Box 2156 West Bromwich west Midlands B70 6HA.
I have attached a few pictures of some of the children and teens who attend our project, not to pull the emotional strings but just so that you can visualise some of the guys we have worked with.
Every Blessing
