Dearest Black Countryites,

We wish you a wonderful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope. HOPE!

Here's a few thoughts about the way He chose to reveal Himself at Christmas.......

Our God sent John to the wilderness to announce His coming;
Jesus was born in Bethlehem........a small village-town with no major attractions;
He chose to be revealed in a cattle shed without any thrones;
The Father chose some shepherds to be manger-side before His priests;
The angels may have been surpised to have despatched to the Judean Hills.

So, as we head into 2010, I wonder where He may be sending us for the first time, birthing new initiatives and revealing fresh aspects of His nature?

Have a wonderful Christmas New Year Black Country Church....we have great HOPE for 2010

Well, just 1-2 weeks to go to Christmas eh! It has certainly rolled around quickly again hasn't it?

Rather than me ramble on for several paragraphs, let's remind ourselves a little of what God has been saying to us over recent yearss as THE BLACK COUNTRY CHURCH, if you have the right ears on!

You may have seen this in some past Net News, but here it is again, as we need to hear this time and time again, as it is written, "Without prophetic revelation, THE PEOPLE wander around without genuine direction".

You don't need me to tell you that prophets did not die out in the first century, or that many of them are not recognized in their own town or time, but you may need me to remind you that they rarely ever brought (or bring) major revelation, direction or guidance to just one small part of The Body.

They are giftings to the wider Church, and there are things that they bring that we have to hear TOGETHER, otherwise, like seed on bad soil, the words are just words, and they never grow to become what they were destined to be......words becoming flesh and coming to life all around us, and in our communities. When God speaks, it's because He wants us to hear.

When God speaks to The Church in The Black Country, He does so as a region (as He did through Paul, John, James and Peter...and of course, through Jesus in Rev 2 & 3), it's because He wants us to hear......and to hear as a group of people in a region. Then, we must work out how we are to act on this.......and you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work that one out either!

This may mean nothing to you right now....it may mean everything. Please be open to what Jesus wants to say to you as "The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus".

We need more now than ever to hear from Jesus as a wider church, as congregations and groups, and even more as individuals. We are ALL called into communion and relationship with Jesus as THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH, and as such, we are all on the same level with there being, in reality, no CLERGY/LAIETY divide in The Kingdom of God.

In essence then, every single one of us should hear from Jesus personally. It's as simple as that. If you think you are excused, then think again. If you don't like the sense of personal responsibility to this, then adjust!

The future is all about the release of the Body Of Christ on earth, executing The Father's WILL here, thus bringing about transformation from inside out and reflecting what things look like in Heaven. Maybe it's time that some of us should stop thinking about getting off this planet and escaping to glory, and think about staying put and bringing some of that glory down here.....some of our neighbours and work colleagues might just want to join in! (And thankfully, this kind of theology is, in many sectors, a thing of the past).

I pray that these ramblings will challenge and provoke you to seek Him more than ever over this Christmas period. The Black Country doesn't need any more good ideas, mission statements, programs or i-manuals or e-manuals....as someone has already said, we need EMMANUEL!

We need Him......Jesus........God WITH us.

He came to be with us.....and our prayer at the end of this year is very simple;

 "JESUS....we want to receive more and more of you Lord. Vast numbers of people in our communities have still never really heard your story, and we know that your will is that none should perish. Help us to receive you and your beautiful Spirit, and help us to position ourselves to be be ultra-receptive with no barriers".   LET IT BE!

I close these ramblings with a statement I heard on a CD by Bill Johnson that shook me to the core. I pray that you too will have reason to repent (to change your thinking/persepctive on reality), as you consider how utterly awesome Jesus really is, and how passionate He is about reaching you, your family, your friends and your enemies. He said,

    "Jesus is living inside so many of us, yet He is imprisoned by our THINKING".

Guys, let's let Him loose on The Black Country. Let us repent, for The Kingdom is truly at hand, OR WITHIN REACH.

Much love,

Tim

Another Christmas pressie idea from Everlasting Books & Music

Dear Friend

Susan Boyle ( Britain’s Got Talent ) has released her new CD – I Dreamed A Dream which has shot to number one and we are pleased to be able to supply this at £9.97.

We would appreciate if you could make this known to Family, Friends, Church Members.

One of our neighbours in our road who is not a Christian bought two copies, she said that she wanted to support missions, instead of the secular stores ( Tesco, Morrisons  etc ) and we trust others may have the same heart.

 Jesus is the reason for the season, every blessing.

Eternal Radio Christmas appeal

Eternal Radio members wanted to give something back this Christmas!

So Eternal Memebers members from all over the country each recorded part of the 80's classic Do They Know Its Christmas to raise money for childrens charity Agents of Grace. All the voices have now been mixed together and it the song sounds amazing!

So how about a little stocking filler for a good cause this Christmas? The song is available as both a music download and a ringtone for your mobile.

VOICE IN THE CITY

UK PRAYER NIGHTS – 2010

Voice in the City is holding 4 Prayer Nights in the UK next year and is inviting pastors and their leadership/members in the Birmingham and Black Country area to join Suzette or Gayle, the UK team and our local partners in order to seek God for what He has in store for this area.

It is our vision to see churches come together and impact this area for Christ.  We have always believed that when the voice of God’s people is heard in the city, the voice of God is presented in that city.

The dates, times and venue for the prayer nights are as follows (2010):

 Dates:               Thursday 18th February      Thursday 20th May

                           Thursday 7th October         Thursday 2nd December

 Time:              7.30pm – 9.30pm

 Venue:            The Cornbow Man   (Situated in the main church building)

                        Zion Christian Centre, Little Cornbow

                        Halesowen, West Midlands, B63 3AJ

The venue will only hold approximately 40 people, so it will be on a first come first served basis.

As well as praying for the region, we would also like to stand with you in prayer for a specific need for your church for which you have been praying for a breakthrough. All we ask is that you let us know at least a week before each meeting by telephone, letter or             e-mail, how many people will be attending from your church and what you would like us to stand with you in prayer for, so that it can be added to our prayer list.

During these meetings we will also take time to pray for Voice in the City and the various events that we have around the world during 2010.

We therefore extend our hand to you and say “let us pray together and expect something new in 2010.”

If you would like us to stand together in prayer, then please either contact our office on 0121 602 4545 or e-mail: jmorris@voiceinthecity.org.

For further information, please see our website at www.voiceinthecity.org.

Yours in Christ,
