Dearest Black Countryites,

Hi guys,

Another week has passed us by. I wonder what kind of week we've all had, and what we'd use as markers or criteria to measure this?

"I have had a great week", or "what a shocker" are words we could use, yet the week would probably be a mixture of a whole load of incidences, feelings, emotional responses to many stimuli, etc....and we'd probably process these based on a mixture of feelings, logic, theology and intellect, etc.

My week has been a mixture too. Various things have occupied my thinking, and I am learning to process these from a wide a base as possible and not to read too much into things.

Things happen, and they always will. Depending on where "you are", you will interpret these in various ways. So where are you?

Maybe this was what God had in mind when He asked Adam this very question in the garden. One thing is for sure, He didn't ask Adam this because He was unsure of His physical location!

Where am I right now in terms of the process of change He has prepared for meHow far along the track am I in my race? Good question.

But I'm not sure it is any more to be honest. When God asked Adam the question, maybe He was inspiring him to reveal what was in his heart, and this was why he chose to hide, thinking he could separate himself from His creator.

My response of late has genuinely been "I don't know".

I don't, and that is not a bad thing anymore. Where I am now or how I am doing is not the central issue any longer, plus the fact that I'm not sure how accurate my reading of these things are at times anyway.

It's what He says that counts.

It's where He has me that matters.

Even when one "feels" perfectly fine and dandy, you cannot really be sure what's coming tomorrow, and the sense of being on firm ground/steadfast can only really be known in the spirit.

I am learning to trust. I am having to.

I am also learning that this is the the only genuine measure of maturity in Christ.

Ultimately, Christ holds us where we are by the power of His Word......nothing else.

He has held us, and He will hold us tomorrow.

But we do need the mental courage and agility to navigate the many pressures and challenges that life will bring our way, whether today or tomorrow, that's LIFE!

That, it increasingly seems to me, is the walk of faith we're all called to.

We pray that yours continues to blossom and flow.

We also still need wisdom to keep making good decisions along the track which means saying YES and NO to issues. I pray that you will know His presence and power alongside and within you as you keep journeying with Him.

Tim.

News from the Sectors

Next breakfast - Wednesday 7th October - 7am - please book in advance ;

 CHRISTMAS BASH

CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN ADVISORY GUIDANCE NOTICE:
THIS EMAIL CONTAINS VERY MILD IRREVERENCE WHICH MAY BE OFFENSIVE TO SOMEBODY POSSIBLY. BUT I PROMISE THERE'S NO SWEARING, VIOLENCE, NUDITY, TRUE EVIL, UNLOVE OR STARVING CHILDREN OR ANYTHING REALLY TRULY OFFENSIVE INTENDED.

So who is the best speaker ever in the history of the breakfast.... Read on:

Now there's a debate. Who is the best speaker we've ever had at breakfast? For example, is it Martin Scott? Or Pastor Pete Cunningham? Or Lloyd Cooke? Or Andrea Miniciello Williams? Or the Great Big Lord Tim Fellows himself?

Is it Buggs Bunny? The pig who supplied the sausage? Is it etc, etc, etc?

Well - my cop-out answer is yes - its all of them - as each and every speaker we have seeks to be moved in God's Spirit at the time they share with us (excepting Buggs Bunny and the pig - they never spoke).

But - I am truly excited to share the news in this email with you about our December Breakfast.

Our special guest speaker is none other than Father Christmas himself and he will be dressed up in a MALCOLM DUNCAN suit. Just search "Malcolm Duncan" (with the speech marks) in google.co.uk and search UK pages only - you'll get loads of quality stuff on him...

If you've never heard MALCOM DUNCAN speak before then I can assure you, all your Christmas's will come at once this year! I intend to invite every single friend I've got. I've already spoken to him about coming.

I can't encourage you and your friends, relatives, colleagues, enough to come and hear this truly remarkable and esteemed brother share with us. Malcolm holds court from the humblest to the mightiest arena. It will be one of the more quality experiences of your year - believe me...

So - all are welcome form far and wide and I would book very early if I was you.

Tim's email below, explains more.
Much Love, Jolyon

Dear Sectorites,
Hello again.....we hope to catch you on the 7th October at the next breakfast, but just in case you're not there, please can we remind you that we are having our Christmas breakfast on an EVENING this year...yes, an evening of all things!!

We have decided to stay at the same venue, The Quality Hotel Dudley, and we've booked the evening of Wednesday 2nd December from 7.30pm.

This may give you opportunity to bring along your partner, your church leader, your organization's leaders or your friends too as we would love the sector vision to be spread wider.

We will have one the UK's foremost communicators with us in Malcolm Duncan, and his heart and passion fit so well with the heart and vision behind the whole Sector vision.

We are just starting to take Net-wide bookings now, and we want to give you first call as we will be limited to just 100 places.
.We can reserve your places for one week, and then we need you to confirm this by pre-paying £15 per head for a buffet meal by sending in a cheque or using the on-line facility on the Net web-site (quoting Sector Christmas).

All are welcome from far and wide - past, present and future. A truly quality evening gathering that we want to celebrate with you and your friends.

Cheers all,

Tim

Education Sector Update

Hi everyone,

Happy New Academic Year!

I hope you've all had a fantastic holiday and are feeling refreshed and ready for the new challenges that lie ahead this year. For some of you, today is your first day with new pupils and students and I really do pray that you bond quickly with each of them so that you can get the best out of them and they can get the best out of themselves this year. May there more success stories and less headaches this year!

For the governors and schools workers amongst us, I pray that you will experience a growing sense of increased responsiveness from those you serve so faithfully in the schools and colleges which you are affiliated to and responsible for.

For the support and admin staff out there, I pray that the new systems that have been put in place this year in your workplaces will be a success and that you will see fruit for the labour you so tirelessly put in behind the scenes to make this incredible sector continue to tick over.

Finally, I pray for all us - that we will sense the Lord moving us into positions, conversations and opportunities ordained by Him to see His kingdom built in the Education Sector through us, His body, that is already right there in the heart of things, serving Him as the ministers and ambassadors we truly are.

At this point, let me take this opportunity to invite you to our next Education Prayer Breakfast, taking place on Saturday 26th September, 10:00-12:00 at Alpha House (old Methodist Chapel) Tipton Street, Sedgley. This breakfast will no doubt prove to be a great opportunity for you to reflect on the year ahead and receive and offer the prayer and encouragement we all need to not only survive but thrive for the glory of God in our roles in this sector.

Please feel free to invite any of your colleagues and friends along to the breakfast as well - all are welcome.

Take care and all the best for the year ahead.

Warm regards,

Linsey Pearson.

LEADERS NET

So far this year………….

During our Leaders sessions this year we are focusing on mission. The first two sessions this year have looked at Mission and Culture and Mission and Community. We continued this work when we met for a vision day on the 20th June. Leaders from across the region met to explore together what the church of the future might look like. How do we change to meet the challenges that our 21st century culture places on us as firstly believers, but also as leaders of congregations? This was an exciting day as we considered how we could ‘move out of our congregations’ and take up residence in our communities!

MISSION AND DISCIPLESHIP

September 29th 2009

Facilitated by Malcolm Duncan

Junction 10 - Walsall

Malcolm Duncan leader of CommunityandChurch.org will speak at and facilitate this participative session which will include looking at the challenges we face as leaders in the discipling new believers and hearing stories of where this is working. If those who come to faith do not fit a current ‘shape’ or ‘model’ what do we do. What does it mean to walk in a discipleship relationship with someone?

Come prepared to share your stories of what God is doing!

Please book in for the next session by emailing John at admin@thenet.org

Why not hit the reply button right now and let John know you are coming?

AND FINALLY................................

THE PRESENCE

Hopefully you will be aware that the next national day of prayer is happening on Saturday 17 October 2009, at the newly refurbished NEC LG Arena in Birmingham. We have sent thousands of fliers out, and will be sending more out in September, but we would really appreciate you putting it on your website, either on the home page (preferable) or under events. We realise that once September kicks in there is realistically only just over a month to fill the new Arena, so we would really appreciate your help in standing with us in this.

I have attached three icons for you to use..... obviously if you can use the big version that would be great, but realise that space can be limited on web pages, so wherever you can fit it in is much appreciated.

If you do need any more paper copies of the flier, please get in touch and we can send you some by return........ in the mean time, just a word to say that we look forward to seeing you in October, and THANK YOU in advance for standing with us and helping us to advertise this very significant day in the life of the nations of The Bristish Isles.
