Dear Friends,
The following is a brief resume about the BCUIM Induction Course which I hope you will be able to use to advertise the course:
The Black Country Urban Industrial Mission (BCUIM) organise an annual Induction Course for church leaders new to the area entitled, ‘Ministry in the Black Country’. This course has been running successfully for many years and has always been appreciated by those who had attended it. The aim of the course is to help participants understand the social and economic factors as the context for their ministry in the Black Country today.
The course is spread over 3 days and Day 1 includes a tour of the Black Country to hear about the culture, history and industry that shaped the area; Day 2 is spent with the Local Authority learning about the issues they face and how the church can help shape the decisions made, and Day 3 involves a visit to a local factory or retail outlet with a workplace chaplain to discover new and relevant ways to do theology.
The dates are as follows: Tuesday 11th October, Wednesday 19th October and Thursday 3rd November – 9.30am – 3.30pm each day. The cost is £100 for the 3 days with a reduction if not attending all 3 days. (Most denominations will support all or part of the cost so please ask and don’t let the cost prevent you from coming.)
For more information and a booking form, please contact Sandra Joynes or Bill Mash on 01902 710407, email enquiries@bcuim.co.uk or look at our website: www.bcuim.co.uk
