The Certificate comprises of seven units spread over 18 months held on Saturdays at St Luke’s Church Centre, Birmingham, with tutorial sessions in between. It is not a traditional academic course, but relies on experiential learning and reflecting on, and recording evidence of learning. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities and young leaders (age 16+) are especially encouraged. It is also possible to participate in any of the units as a single training day. The Certificate is a wonderful way to meet and share with others who work with children across the diocese and to be inspired with ideas to take back to your own church. Topics include:
| Childhood Past & Present | Child Development | Multi-sensory learning |
| Storytelling | Communicating with children | Planning & Evaluation |
| Using Resources | Behaviour Management | Spirituality |
| Godly Play | Praying with Children | Child Protection |
| Team Building | Outreach | Advocacy |
