GENnet Kids Weekend: Friday 1st July- Sunday 3rd July 2011

GENnet Kids Weekend: Friday 1st July- Sunday 3rd July 2011

Dear Kids Worker,

I am writing to tell you about our weekend away that we are having for children  from 1st-3rd July 2011. This will be open to any child who is in Years 3-6 during the 2010-2011 school year.

The weekend is at the Quinta centre near Oswestry which is an excellent venue for weekends away. The weekend will include teaching sessions, games, activities, craft, music, great food, swimming and loads of other exciting ways for kids to come together and explore the Christian faith.

The weekend is organised by the GENnet Kids Team which includes many experienced children’s workers from around churches in the Black Country. This will be an excellent opportunity for children to meet kids from other Black Country churches.

Previous weekends was extremely popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Places will then be allocated on a first come first served basis.

The cost for the weekend is £45 per child and £45 per leader. Cheques made payable to The Net.

We will be booking on a first come first served basis, so get your deposits to us asap to avoid disappointment. We do have a camping option which is £25 per person (tents and equipment are not provided).

Please note that any places booked by a church by the 1st June must be paid for in full.

If a child drops out, you may replace that child with a child of the same sex. If you are unable to do this, no refund will be given.

FOR A BOOKING FORM AND CONSENT FORM PLEASE CONTACT PHIL MILES AT philmiles@junction10.com OR HEATHER BARTON AT  heatherdbarton@yahoo.co.uk ASAP!!!

What you need to do:

1.     Contact Phil or Heather with an expression of interest and get the forms needed from them.

2.     Arrange transport for your group and your own parental consent forms for transport to arrive at 7pm on the Friday and leave at 3pm on the Sunday (you could book a minibus, get parents to take their own children or agree to share transport with another church group.

3.     Advertise the weekend to children in your church groups.

4.     Ensure that you have enough leaders to come with your children (1 adult per 5 children of same gender.) You can also bring up to three 14-17 year olds with you that you would trust as Junior leaders. This is an excellent time to get them involved with helping at a children’s event. Unfortunately they cannot count on your 1;5 ratio, and they must be young people that you would trust to join in with helping on the weekend and would not be a nuisance!

All leaders over 16 must have crb clearance that your church can vouch for and will also be asked to sign a leaders declaration. If you need help on this, please let us know asap.

5.     Collect deposits and send them to GENnet along with a completed booking list ASAP.

6.     Collect consent forms and ensure you send a copy to GENnet Kids and bring your own copy with you on the weekend.

Collect final payments and send to GENnet Kids with copies of consent forms by 1stth June .

7.     Attend the leaders preparation meeting on ________________ at Bilston Pentecostal Church at 7.30pm along with all your leaders. Kit lists will be issued on this day.

8.     Friday 1st July: Come for a fantastic weekend away!!!

If you have any questions or thoughts please contact Phil on 07743982326 (Daytime)

or e-mail him on philmiles@junction10.com If yourself or any of your leaders would like to help with the planning, please let Phil know asap.

Many Thanks

The GENnet Kids Team
