Whilst much has been written of late about changes at Aston Villa a former Aston Villa player has been used by God to bring about changes to the lives of thousands of people.
One of the club’s stars from the 1960′s, Mike Tindall, who enjoyed 13 year’s at Villa Park and who was capped 10 times for England and played alongside the great Bobby Moore, is still busy using his feet to help achieve what he believes are greater victories than when he was playing football.
There are still arenas but no longer football stadia. The pitch has been replaced by the mission field.
Instead of kicking balls, tackling and laying on or scoring goals, Mike’s feet are nowadays deployed to convey in his words, “ the best news that anyone can ever have.”
Some things have not changed. Mike is still part of a team although much of what he does are tasks that are carried out on his own.
His remains an outdoor occupation and subject to all kinds of weather. There are still spectators to confront but although there are some times crowds of more than thirty thousand when Mike makes visits abroad it is usually just a handful of people that Mike comes face to face with on the streets of West Midlands towns.
“After having to give up football whilst on the books of Walsall, I first of all owned two shops before becoming a publican. For a few years I did quite well and then everything went very wrong. My life was in tatters.”
But Mike’s life was to change for the better when he discovered God through Jesus Christ. “Ever since coming to know Jesus as my Saviour and friend I could not have been any happier.”
It was Mike’s wife, Thora, who first had an encounter with God. “My wife’s prayers that I should also come to know God were answered in a wonderful way,” said Mike.
Such has been Mike’s life changing experience that he feels led to pass on to other people the good news of Jesus Christ. “Jesus overcame the world and is the answer to all the world’s problems,” stated Mike.
On eight occasions Mike has been the main speaker at missions that have become an annual event in Zambia. Mike has been invited by the bishop in charge, to again lead the meetings this spring.
They are being held from the second week of April to mid-May and are taking place in a very remote region of the country where not many people have heard the gospel message.
Last year thousands of Zambians came to hear about Jesus for the first time and many of them gave their lives to God.
“Folk need to hear about Jesus,” said Mike, “but how will they get to know about the good news unless someone is prepared to tell them?”
Mike is certainly willing to do just that and is trusting that sufficient funds will be raised to enable him to reach out to people in Zambia. The people in that part of Africa are quite poor and cannot afford to contribute towards the cost of Mike’s visit.
Mike himself does not receive an income and relies on the generosity of people in the U.K. in order to carry out his overseas missionary work.

Giving hope to the hopeless – nothing keeps us out of heaven except rejecting JESUS – everything else is forgivable!
Mike will very soon be returning to Africa with the Good News of God’s life-changing gospel. Andrew Fournier is also going again. This will be the ninth time Mike has worked in Zambia. They will be working with Bishop Edward Mbaso, who has pioneered twenty-two churches in Zambia, and also with Pastor Marlon Zulu. These two remarkable saints share a deep passion to see people come to know Jesus as their personal Saviour.
Mike and the team will go anywhere, to places other evangelists won’t visit, to tell precious souls about Jesus.
The four crusades will take place in different immensely populated villages, where God willing, hundreds, even thousands will gather. Mike will also minister in a number of churches during his time in Zambia.
Many people in these huge rural communities, especially in the bush, have never heard the gospel before. Last April twenty eight thousand precious people received Jesus as their personal Saviour. Many were also miraculously healed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and tormented souls were set free from the demonic and ran around praising God.
“Some people like to live within the sound of a Chapel bell. I would rather build a rescue mission on the edge of Hell.” C. T. Studd
This is God’s challenge to us today – we must evangelise the Nations NOW! The time is urgent! We must do all we can, while we can, to bring in the harvest before Jesus’ soon and coming return.
Please would you pray:
1) For travelling mercies, excellent health and divine protection during Mike & Andrew’s time in Zambia.
2) For anointing and signs and wonders to follow the preaching of the word.
3) For all those involved in arranging and preparing the open air crusades and meetings &
for divine protection for them and their households.
4) For many hearts to receive revelation of the truth and be saved at the crusades. For the anointing to break the yokes of lies, and wrong theologies, ideologies, strongholds and wrong teaching etc.
5) For protection for Thora [Mike's wife], and over their home when Mike is away.
Thanking you all so much for your faithful intercessions and loving support.
Blessings and love to each one of you.
