Prospects looking to partner churches in the West Midlands
Prospects is a Christian organisation keen to partner churches with an interest in disability and people with learning disabilities across the West Midlands. We have just launched our new website www.prospects.org.uk and we would like to hear good news stories from people about their faith and involvement in the local Christian community.
One of the ways is to belong to one of the Prospects ministry groups, similar to a house group giving an opportunity for bible study and fellowship. In your area we have groups meeting in Bourneville, Oldbury, Solihull, Stourbridge, Sutton Coalfield, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We would love to hear from Christian communities who feel called to reach out in this way. Prospects produce resources for churches who want to get started.
Personal assistants and supported living
For many people with learning disabilities they want to be like everyone else and have their own home. Some people like to share others want to have a single tenancy. But for many people having Christian support workers who can pray and accompany them to Christian activities is important. Prospects can help facilitate this need.
In Sutton Coldfield there are two ladies with learning disabilities with direct payments who are looking for other ladies who would like to share as a supported living project. A large house has already been identified to rent with a garden close to a park. The ladies would like to share with fellow Christians.
We have other people in the Black Country who are also interested in developing projects.
