Special Net News – Global Prayer edition (September 2011)
Hi everyone,
Our friends at the World Prayer Centre in Birmingham have sent this note out below which we felt we should pass on as it potentially affects every single one of us. We realize that some Christians are very locally focused, and as part of The Body of Christ, this is very important and right.
However, we are also part of a much bigger BODY, and as “God so loved the world…”, we also need at times to be conscious of what is happening on a much wider picture, and as such, we simply wish you to be aware of these very important dates coming up this week so that you can pray, and maybe ask your congregations to stand together on Sunday over, and ask God to speak to you about His desire and Will in such situations, especially as to how He would have us act and pray.
Our combined prayers as a region, and as a nation, must have an impact in “The Heavenlies” as this is what God’s Word teaches us.
Let’s contend for God’s Will in these scenarios guys.

Church leaders in South Korean church have invited a number of Christian leaders from other nations to go to Korea to join in with this international prayer initiative. Brian Mills, Howard Barnes and Ian & Pauline Cole have gone to represent the UK.
These are some of the ways it has been described in the media and by those who have been there as eyewitnesses: Largest prison camp in the world. It is the worst human rights violating country. It is the worst persecutor of Christians. 4 million North Koreans have died of starvation since 1995. Economy “literally collapsed. Famine again stalks the land. North Korean people “the most isolated, most persecuted, and most suffering”

God brought down the Berlin Wall, uniting East with West Germany, after a concerted strategic prayer initiative. He also united black and white South Africa on the verge of Bloody civil war as His people prayed so a new nation was born. He can do the same for Korea, liberating the North and reintegrating it peacefully with the South. Let’s believe Him for this to happen!

UN VOTE ABOUT A PALESTINIAN STATE – 19th September 2011
There is much being circulated at the moment in relation to Israel and the UN voting about a Palestinian State. We are circulating the information below document asking people to join together in a day of Prayer and Fasting for the whole situation on Monday 19 September.

Focus: UN vote about a Palestinian State
Please observe the fast on September 19th and then if you are not able to pray on that day, please pray on this topic at your next meeting.
Background :
On 20 September 2011 the Palestinians intend asking the UN Security Council and General Assembly to recognise a Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital and grant it full UN membership.
There are 15 UN Security Council members of which China, France, Russia, UK and USA are permanent members. UN Security Council decisions on all substantive matters require the affirmative votes of nine members. A negative vote by a permanent member prevents adoption of a proposal, even if it has received the required number of affirmative votes (9) by the Security Council. If it is rejected by the Council then it cannot proceed to the General Assembly.
However if it does proceed then a vote is required by those present in the UN General Assembly. There are 193 members and approval requires a two thirds majority of 128. It has been suggested that 122 countries have stated that they will recognise a Palestinian State.
