DUDLEY SONGS OF PRAISE
Formerly known as Dudley Castle Songs of Praise
Organised by Churches Together and the Organising Committee
Dear Friend,
On behalf of the committee and Churches Together I should like to invite you and your fellowship to Songs of Praise in the Grounds of Himley Hall on Sunday 18th June at 7.00pm.
The last time we staged this event at Dudley Castle it was attended by over 3000 people drawn from Churches, schools and youth organisations. The main focus of the worship is the singing of well known hymns and worship songs by the whole congregation. If you have attended this event in the last eight years you will know that it is always spiritually uplifting and a wonderful act of witness. This year, once again, invitations have gone out to organisations in the boroughs which surround Dudley and many significant figures in religious organisations in the area are expected to attend, as well as local M.P.s and M.E.P.s and the Mayors and Mayoresses from each of the boroughs.
If your group intends to come, I would like you to complete a form which can be obtained by calling the number below. This form should be returned to my address before April 1st, or as soon as possible thereafter. Over 1000 organisations have been invited to attend, so it is essential that we have some approximate idea of the numbers at this stage. There is no limit to the numbers who join us for the worship, except for the choir and musicians. Since music books need to be produced we need a more accurate figure for those leading the music. Also, for safety and insurance reasons, there is a limit to the number of people who can be accommodated on the stage.
Finally, for those intending to sing with the choir, it will not be possible for “would-be” members of the choir just to “turn up and sing”. We are asking choir members to commit themselves to one rehearsal as well as the event itself. I hope that you agree this is an essential step as the singers will have to practise a large range of music. At this stage the rehearsal is booked for the evening of Monday 12th June at 7.30pm. The location will be supplied nearer the date for those taking part. This date needs to be entered into diaries along with the practice at 4.30pm on the day itself.
I look forward to your reply,
Yours sincerely

Crusaders are running the finals of a major football tournament in Walsall on Sat 22 April. They expect to have around 45 teams and some 350 to 400 young people involved. They need help in running this year's Tournament. Many of the regular referees are unable to help and currently they need to find 10 more referees to enable the event to run.
I wondered if the Net might have any contact with qualified referees or people with experience of refereeing youth football matches. If you know of someone that could help, please would you (or they!) get in touch with
Ray Allison rallison@crusaders.org.uk 01582 589850.It’s always a great day (especially when the sun shines!)

Anyone got a Marquee?? (request from Chawn Hill Church)
May 26-28 is a church weekend away camping that we call “Chawnstock”, and the increasing popularity of this weekend means we are now desperate for a sturdy marquee or similarly big tent to use for youth activities and meetings. Can anyone out there be of assistance? If you have a marquee you would be willing to let us borrow (or hire), or know of someone else locally that does, please please do contact me. Go on, I’ll be your best mate….

My name is Anna and i run a project called Loaves and Fishes.
Basically myself and a few others gather together peoples leftovers of furniture, clothes, pots and pans ,toys etc, so as none goes to waste; as in the story ,and give to whoever needs it.At the minute we are looking for a property to rent to store these items in as at present we only have a couple of garages and peoples airing cupboards etc.God has blessed this work so much, we have seen a need in the left hand and a giver in the right, at no cost to anyone.
The majority of this work is done through my job as i work for a womens refuge so the need is great as each lady, and maybe children, have had to leave behind everything and start again.Their lives have been torn apart by the things that have happened to them, hearts broken, minds confused. The world can only step in so far, they cant give what the church can, our Lord and Saviour is the only answer, and the best one at that, hallelujah!
Isaiah 58 v6-12 is a great inspiration to this project.
Everyone we help we hope to give a bible to and as a christian it is impossible for me not to tell of christ's love to these, his children. I have little knowledge of churches in sandwell but hope to provide information of one to each lady, and children of a sunday school.
My thoughts in contacting you was to see if we could work together and that i have a name / contact no. for each church that is willing to reach out to this lady, family ,by simply knocking on the door and introducing their church. I'm not asking for anything else, by this time the lady , we pray, would of had her house completed with all essentials so her only need ,be it the most important one, getting to know Jesus.
I hope this helps in knowing a little more about the help needed.
Yours, in Him.
Anna
