Re: Ian McDowall (Tough Talk) – Next ‘Dudley Focus for Men’ Event – October 2006
I am delighted to invite you to the next high quality event of ‘Dudley Focus for Men’ on Monday 2nd October 2006 at The Lodge, Wellington Road, Dudley at 7.00 for 7.30pm.
The speaker will be Ian McDowall, an ex-violent criminal and nightclub bouncer. Ian began working as a nightclub bouncer at the age of 18 and by the time he was 24 he was taking a gun to work. Violence and anger took over his life. All the time he was getting more involved in crime and the taking and selling of anabolic steroids and other drugs. He lived for his obsession: bodybuilding, but the drugs were destroying his health. His heart was becoming cold and hard as stone. Life had become a cesspool of lies, deceit and violence and his marriage had hit rock bottom. However, an encounter with God after a nightclub brawl changed his life forever and now Ian travels the world with the Tough Talk team sharing his faith.
Tough Talk is made up of a group of men with backgrounds of ex-bouncers and ex-East End hard men who, having let God into their lives, have turned their backs on their past.
This is an evangelistic event, as Ian will be giving his testimony, so please encourage the men in your church to bring a Not Yet Believing colleague, friend, neighbour, or family member. Your support in every other way is also vital to the effectiveness of this event. Tickets are still only £12.50 and are LIMITED IN NUMBER, SO PLEASE BOOK QUICKLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
