Dear Black Country,

Hope you are well. My ramblings this time are more to most of your taste apparently, ie, very short, or so I hear occasionally! Thanks for that!

It was great to have Dr Tony Campolo with us this week, and what a tremendous challenge he left us with, especially in the daytime session:

"Which Jesus do you follow?
The Biblical Jesus, or the culturally relevant one????????".

Have we fashioned something to worship that is intrinsically a creation of our own imagination, which would be so ironic seeing as He actually made us in His! Or do we love and follow The Christ who was before He embodied Himself into Jesus of Nazareth who came to earth and lived as us?

History will record who it was we followed, and we will all find out when we meet Him face-to-face, but it's probably worth us all taking some time out, seeking Him in news ways, and doing what Paul told us to do, ie, "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling".

I was certainly challenged to the core again by Dr Campolo, and need to work some stuff out in my own life as I realize there is far more to find out, loads more to experience, and many people in my own little world who need to see more of the REAL Jesus in and through me than they do at the moment.......none of us have arrived!

But we can all start the next stage of our own journey with Him. Today.

Plenty to check out below, and on the web-site too. Our next TOGETHER events are in June (including a Prayer School with Suzette Hettingh and a Healing Service), as below, and there are Gen Net weekends, Business/Sector gatherings/Prayer sessions all coming up shortly, so we hope to connect with you very soon guys.

Let us continue to fly The Kingdom flag publicly and privately,

Much love,

Tim

Dear Fellow Black Country Prayer Partner,

We are gathering those of you who have been a part of previous prayer gatherings for a ‘Black Country Prayer Leaders’ gathering at Amblecote Christian Centre on the 17th of April at 8.00pm. The primary purpose of this evening is to join together in prayer for our region. I believe there is enormous power in collective prayer.

Matthew 18: “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered in My name, I am there in their midst”

The promise of God is that when we agree, when we are gathered together, when we are in His name, He will answer from heaven! This is a great opportunity to gather, agree together and ask for an answer from heaven.

We will also up date you on Hope 2008 a national initiative to reach our nation, in word, deed and through prayer.

Please join us if you can, perhaps you could let me know by replying to this e-mail

Many thanks,

Adrian Lowe

New Black Country Church Growth Academy

"Well, last month saw the birth of the first Black Country Church Growth Academy.  It was an exciting evening with over 55 delegates gathering together at Zion.  These delegates came from a number of net churches - from Calvary, Zion, Chawn Hill Church, Junction 10 and Amblecote Christian Centre.  We gathered together and started our two year journey exploring what it means to develop Church, to put Mission at the heart of our churches and to train and equip our members.  There was an exciting buzz at the event and by the end of the evening, all the delegates left feeling thrilled and excited about what God could do and how they could be used through the Academy over the next two years.

But do not fear - the next Church Growth Academy will take place in September and if you think your church could get involved, then please contact Phil Collins at Saltmine Trust and he will be happy to talk to you about how your church can get involved in an exciting programme.  Already hundreds of churches have been affected by the Church Growth Academy across Bristol and Cardiff and now into Lincolnshire.  The Net is committed to resourcing and supporting local churches."

For more information on Church Growth Academy please contact Phil Collins at Saltmine Trust, St James House, Trinity Road, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 1JB.  Telephone: 01384 454860 or email: philc@saltmine.org

Alpha on the Wrens Nest (Dudley)

Dudley Christian Fellowship is bringing the Alpha Course to the Wren’s Nest estate this month in a new move to bring the gospel to the neighbourhood.  There is a lot of need on the Wren’s Nest estate and we have been praying and involved here in some way for many years now.  We now feel it’s right to step our witness up a gear so we’ve booked up the Wren’s Nest Community Centre for ten weeks.

We’d really appreciate your prayers for us in this venture. The Wren’s Nest Alpha course is kicking off on Monday nights from 16th April 2007.  It takes place in the Wren's Nest Community Centre in Summer Road.  For more information, visit the website: http://www.alphawrensnest.co.uk or call Hughie Treasure on 07963 789610.
