  12. JOB
Dear Black Countryites,

Greetings fellow Oxen! We trust that your stalls are full, and that you are ready to pull!

Please see lots of stuff below and on the web-site, including a growing number of jobs with Christian agencies.

There are quite a few key strategic things coming up, including our second BLACK COUNTRY PRAYER SCHOOL. Hope that many of you can invest yourselves into these as we need to know how to move in The Heavenlies before we can shift significant barriers on earth.

Please note that we also have a Together 4 The Black Country at the end of this 3 day school at Dudley Town Hall. The idea of these are that we all come out TOGETHER as ONE united BODY. Please make every effort to come along guys.

There are also regular gatherings coming up for Business & Sector leaders, Church leaders, Prayer leaders and Gen Netters (childrens' youth and Gen X 'ers).
Hope to see you at one of these gatherings very soon.

Take care,

Tim

LEADERS' NET 12TH JUNE 2007

Plus some dates for your diary.

Can I remind you that Leaders Net is on the 12th of June held at Amblecote Christian Centre on Brettell Lane in Stourbridge. During this session we will do three things.

1/ HOPE 2008 session – Social Action vs Mission

This will be a practical session looking at getting the balance between social action mission and more direct communication styles of evangelisum. We may break down into smaller groups to talk share ideas and pray together.

2/ FREEDOM IN CHRIST

We have invited Steve Goss from Freedom in Christ to talk about the discipleship programme they have available for churches. Many of us face the challenge of bringing new Christians into a deeper relationship with Christ. This programme is rated very highly by many. We have also booked a date on September the 13th for Steve Goss and his team to run a full train the trainer day.

3/ PRAYER SCHOOL June 21st – June 23rd

We will give you more information on this day about how the Prayer School will work. You should have some details about this very shortly from the team at Zion Christian Centre who are organizing this event on behalf of the NET.

Children Of The Black Country.....

As the Net, we have the history and values of bringing larger numbers of Christians together as we all hold to this as a value.....

......so what about our children as they can often be left out, or left til last??

GenNet are hosting a “Conference” Day to reach a whole generation on

Saturday 8th September 07 at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill.....this will include the following;

Fun Praise Party Event for Primary School Children---------10am-12noon

More details will be out soon, but we wanted to get you on board as early as possible.

 1) We want as many kids from the Black Country to experience this event as possible, and we’d like to get your kids workers up for this event. We are tailoring the morning so it will be both meaningful for kids whose parents are Christians and children who attend outreach clubs and other provision churches provide for their community.

SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

2) We have a team meeting already to plan this event. If your kids worker(s) would like to be involved with this, that is brilliant. HOWEVER THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT EACH CHURCH IS ENTHUSED ABOUT BRINGING KIDS TO THE EVENT, AND THE MAIN PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THIS ARE THE CHURCH LEADERSHIP AND THE KIDS WORKERS: SO WE’RE REALLY ASKING FOR YOUR HELP ON THIS.

Any questions or if you’d like to get on board,

Please e-mail philmiles@junction10.com

Andrea Minichiello-Williams**-Barrister, Public Policy Officer, Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship joins with Business/sector session on Wednesday 6th June @ 7am. We are thrilled to have Andrea with us again in The Black Country. Her reputation is growing with great speed, and her voice in the secular press is becoming louder as she represents many of our views in the Public Square. We hosted her a few months ago at a Leaders' Net gathering and she received a long standing ovation at the end of her talk. Here's an opportunity for those who may have missed her, or if you want to recommend her to others....those who like an early morning!!Please see a snippet of her last e-newsletter with details of how to subscribe;

020........it's been a while!!

Hi everyone,

We hope you're all well. It's been a while since we last saw any of you. Many babies have been born and houses purchased within the 020 team. However, we are pleased to announce that we're planning another 020 event. The details are as follows:

Date: Saturday 8th September 2007

Place: Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill, Dudley

Time: 20:00 - late

Price: £20 per ticket

Entertainment: Comedian/Magician/All Round Funny Man John Archer
(back by popular demand!!)

Nosh: Hot buffet - delicious as always!

Music: Naturally! All your favourite tunes and more.

As always, 020 events carry the infamous "No Cringe, Just Quality" label and are a fantastic way to introduce your non-Christian friends to a quality, credible Christian environment. Make sure you take advantage of it and bring as many of them along with you as you can.

Tickets can be purchased by cheque and will go on sale ASAP. We'll let you know the details very soon.

Keep it in your diary and we look forward to seeing you on the 8th September.

Much love,

The 020 Team.

Dudley Songs of Praise

Dear Friend,10th Anniversary of Dudley Songs of Praise

On behalf of the committee and Churches Together I should like to invite you and your fellowship to Songs of Praise in the Grounds of Himley Hall on Sunday 1st July at 7.00pm.
As this is the 10th Anniversary we want to make this a really special event and would encourage as many as possible to attend.

The last time we staged this event it was attended by some 3000 people drawn from churches, schools and youth organisations.   The main focus of the worship is the singing of well known hymns and worship songs by the whole congregation.   If you have attended this event in the last nine years you will know that it is always spiritually uplifting and a wonderful act of witness.   This year, once again, invitations have gone out to organisations in the boroughs which surround Dudley and many significant figures in religious organisations in the area are expected to attend, as well as the Lord Lieutenant, local M.P.s and M.E.P.s and the Mayors and Mayoresses from each of the boroughs.

If your group intends to come, I would like you to complete the form enclosed with this invitation.   This should be returned to my address or e-mail address (before April 22nd) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!   Over 1,000 organisations have been invited to attend, so it is essential that we have some approximate idea of the numbers at this stage.   There is no limit to the numbers who join us for the worship, except for the choir and musicians.   Since music books need to be produced we need a more accurate figure for those leading the music.   Also, for safety and insurance reasons, there is a limit to the number of people who can be accommodated on the stage.

Finally, for those intending to sing with the choir, it will not be possible for ‘would-be’ members of the choir just to ‘turn up and sing’.   We are asking choir members to commit themselves to one rehearsal as well as to the event itself.   I hope that you agree this is an essential step as the singers will have to practise a large range of music.   At this stage the rehearsal is booked for the evening of Monday 25th June at 7.15 pm at Dudley Concert Hall. This date needs to be entered into diaries along with the practice at 4.30.pm on the day itself.

I look forward to your reply,

Yours sincerely

Joyce Smith
