leaders' net
Our next gathering will take place from 0930hrs at Sandwell Christian Centre (directions available) on Tuesday 14th August with lunch at around 12pm. Trevor Baker will be our speaker, and it will be another opportunity to come together as leaders across the region.
OUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU………….
My name is Eileen Edwards and I run the ART centre on the Old Pleck Road in Walsall.
We desperately need 4 adult volunteers (2 male and 2 female) to
help on a narrow boat holiday from 6th August to 17th August as we’ve been let down by our coordinators who arranged this trip. The holiday is for underprivileged teenagers. The volunteers would be in charge of 16 teenagers, 8 girls on one boat and 8 boys on the other. When the boats moor each evening the leaders will also have to arrange how the evening is spent, eg. BBQ, visit local places of interest etc.
CRB checks are necessary and experience with working with teenagers needed.
Please contact me on 01922 720422 or my mobile is 07736540805 if you can help and for further information. We don’t want to cancel this event as funding has been secured.

HELP REQUIRED BY UCB
There is a massive event coming up in London, Earls Court 2 Arena, organised by Morris Cerullo World Evangelism. Huge attendance expected, with lots of amazing speakers, including Reinhard Bonnke, Tommy Tenney and more!
UCB are exhibiting there and I am looking for volunteers who may be able to help us on our stand, offering bags of WFT, W4U2D and the BOH!
All expenses paid! This will include transport, food and accommodation if needed.
Ideally I need 2 people Wednesday, 1/2 person/s Thursday, and 2 people Friday and Saturday. If I can have the same group of people I will be able to book accommodation for them too.
For more info on the event itself please look at www.missiontolondon.com.
I also need volunteers to help out at the Faith Camp event at Peterborough, the first Saturday and Sunday. The dates for this would be 28 and 29th July.
Thanks very much!
Abundant blessings!

Evan Almighty, set to hit our cinema screens on Friday 3 August, gives us a rare opportunity to consider salvation, prayer’s power, the character of God’s judgement and God’s calling on a person’s life.
Resources
Take a look at the Christianity magazine website, which has information about the film and practical ways of using it in church, alongside links to further resources.
John Buckeridge and Martin Saunders, the editors of Christianity and Faithworks magazines, have been in the Premier.tv studios recording a short clip about Evan Almighty, including the full-length trailer, and about how to use the film in outreach. To view this, click here.
More Information
The sequel to 2003’s Bruce Almighty, Evan Almighty is a modern-day parable of Noah and his ark, seeing Steve Carell play Evan Baxter, a former news journalist.
In his first week as a politician, Evan is interrupted by divine intervention, and although he tries to ignore this, God (Morgan Freeman) eventually persuades him to build a gigantic ark.
Christianity and Youthwork magazines have been looking at how the Universal Studios release can be used by churches and youth leaders around the country.
Youthwork has said to "consider taking your whole youth group to see Evan Almighty," and listed some interesting follow-up topics to provoke discussion, including investigating the idea of an ARK (Act of Random Kindness), which is featured in the film.
Christianity magazine suggests churches should hold a morning service at the cinema just watching the film, and then organise a gathering in the afternoon, such as a barbecue or picnic, where everyone can discuss it.
Christianity magazine is available on subscription from subscriptions@premier.org.uk or 01892 652644, and Youthwork from broadwayhouse@premier.org.uk or 01892 652472. Both magazines can also be bought from all good Christian bookshops.
