PRAYER GATHERING WITH MARTIN SCOTT – OPEN TO ALL--Wednesday 19th September 2007
Great news! We have Martin Scott with us again in September. Martin has been a prophetic voice into our region for the past two years and will be joining us again on the night of Wednesday 19th of September at DUDLEY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, SALOP ST** at 8.00pm. Martin’s teaching is unique and insightful and has always had something of significance to say to us as we have journeyed together. Come and join with us as we ask God to lead and direct us.
Together for The Black Country 1 Day Conference
Tuesday 16th October 9 til 5
At Amblecote Christian Centre, Brettell lane, Stourbridge
‘Being a Prophetic Voice, taking Pragmatic Action’
Our Theme
The church once inward and maintenance focused is undergoing a major change, all over the Black Country the Christian community is having a major impact on this region.
Individually our voices may not always be heard, but collectively, together, we are becoming a voice to our boroughs, our region, and our nation.
Over 10 years ago it was prophesied that "out of the industrial wastelands of The Midlands would rise a team of Oxen who will plough the length and breadth of the British Isles", changing the landscape of our country. This prophetic word is finding it's fulfilment; we are starting to see the landscape of our region transformed by the people of God. Our recent Faith Survey, completed this year, estimates that "The Church of the Black Country" contributed £32m of time, effort and resource into the communities that make up the four boroughs of our region.
This is just the beginning, the initial signs of a ‘church’ that will bring about the transformation of communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Join with us in learning together how we can speak into our region with one voice and harness collective action to bring about a change of government.
‘His Kingdom come His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven’
Our speakers
Malcolm Duncan
Malcolm was born in Northern Ireland. He studied theology at university and has been leading local churches for a number of years. He has served on boards for community regeneration and renewal projects including a Neighbourhood Renewal Pathfinder. He has been actively involved in leading churches to engage in their communities for over a decade, providing training and support and has set up a number of community initiatives as part of the Church’s outreach.
Prior to joining Faithworks, Malcolm was the Head of Church and Mission for the Evangelical Alliance, where he was responsible for leading the Alliance’s commitment to over 3,000 churches. He was also responsible for leading the Alliance’s work in evangelism, mission and prayer including a particular emphasis on social responsibility - covering social action, social engagement, social justice and social policy. He is committed to serving the poor and excluded and to helping the government and other groups understand the role of church in society.
A passionate communicator, Malcolm has also regularly written, broadcast, taught and lectured on the themes of mission and engagement by the church. Malcolm's first book, "Building a Better World", was published in September 2006.
Sue Mitchell
"Sue's motivation is prophetic. She works best in the gifts of interpretation and discernment and loves teaching the Scriptures, interpreting and applying them to the times and seasons we live through. She has much enjoyed involvement in prophetic schools both in the UK and wider Europe during this last season as prophetic gift has been re-ignited in the church and companies of prophetic people have emerged in various cities.
Like many others in this season, she is also looking for increased engagement in all of creation and is exploring the possibility of becoming a local magistrate. Since moving to Silverdale, she has also honed her cooking and hospitality skills, hugely enjoying the many stimulating visits of friends from across the world to this wonderful place and subjecting them to her culinary experiments during retreats, theological conversations and prayer!"
Sue's husband, Roger, was the man who actually spoke the words BELOW which many of us now believe to be a key prophetic word that we have harnessed as a region,
"I see teams of oxen rising out of the earth, out of The Midlands of The UK........and they're pulling ploughs the length and breadth of The British Isles."

Hi Guys,
Sorry you haven’t had GENnet news since July, I don’t know about you but life just seems to get more hectic each week!
As most of you will be aware we have had a couple of gatherings since I last spoke to you, the first was the GENnet social in Stourton on the 23rd July, this was a great night with families, young people and some of you more mature folks all getting involved with Sumo wrestling, mega slides or just chatting together and hopefully making some really good quality links.
The second that was on Saturday just gone was our first GENnet day where we gathered children in the morning, youth in the afternoon and 18-40s ish on the night. Over the day we gathered about 650 children/youth & Gen Xers and had an amazing time of fun, sharing vision, worship, eating and mixing together. (Different things in the different sections) The stories coming in from these three events are really positive. If you have any stories please pass them on.
We as a team really believe we have been obedient by putting this event on and are trying to stay open to God to see what the next steps are.
Guys we are on a big journey here and at times it’s exciting, fun, easy and I love it, at other times its frustrating, confusing and really hard work but I am encouraged by Hebrews 12:1-3, when we fix our eyes on Jesus what else matters? How can we go wrong? Let’s run this race guys and please don’t grow weary or lose heart!! And if you feel like you are please talk to someone.
Just to remind you –
We have our next GENnet gathering on Monday October 29th please put the date in your diary and more info will be out soon.
We want to build GENnet around "the whole generation", younger leaders and influencers, and families. Come and help us develop this community.
Please also keep your eyes open and check out the net website at www.thenet.org.uk to see what else is going on across OUR network!! There is a 1 day conference on October 16th called “Being a prophetic voice, taking pragmatic action” that I would highly recommend and also another together 4 the Black Country on that evening.
