Dear Black Countryites,

Greetings!

We can now look ahead to some strategic gatherings, including  our annual "LEADERSHIP" Conference, and 2007's final Together 4 The Black Country evening celebration.

Please allow me to recap once more on each of these to help you understand why we do them, and who they are aimed at;

(i)the leadership day is aimed at leaders...period!
You may be a leader in a church, a department in a church or Christian organization.....or you may sense a calling to this too....fantastic.

OR......you may also be a teacher, a lawyer, a social worker, a mum, a neighbour, a friend.......or a probation officer, a police officer, a local government worker, a Company Director or cleaner.............getting the point yet????
Whoever you are, rather than whatever you are, do you sense a calling or purpose in God to connect into something wider, something huge?? This day is aimed at you....to release the people into works of service..(Eph 4)......where it counts....where the people are.....people need leading......and we want to gather willing leaders...come along!

If you want to book your tickets ON-LINE, please simply click here

(ii) the T4TBC'try evening celebration is aimed at you........if you are part of the wider BODY OF CHRIST in the area....it's our opportunity to come together and act like we're one, rather than just singing about it! We urge you to invest an evening with us, and we once again encourage you congregation leaders to let the people know that this is happening.......we have one of the best Christian communicators and activists in our nation with us, Malcolm Duncan.

Please see below for many more details, and the web-site too.

God bless you all as you seek to serve The Living God where you are. We are ONE, and He is ONE.

We are here to help us do that TOGETHER, as a regional Body.

Much love,

Tim Fellows

CFAN Course
You will hopefully remember at the Fire Conference this year the launch of the Full Flame Film Series.
Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke introduced this unique new 8-part film series which looks beyond strategies and techniques and seeks instead - through the power of story and a cinematic experience - to create in viewers the same urgency and compassion that compelled Jesus to reach out to the lost.

Picture what could happen if believers in your church were truly inspired to share their faith in fresh, simple, and dynamic ways, out of their own experiences and Christ-like motivation!

We are excited to invite you to a unique event.
Starting Tuesday October 9th for nine weeks - 7.30pm to 9.15pm - we are running a pilot course using the series at our office in Halesowen.

Would you be interested in joining with the CfaN Team for this? We are making no charge for course materials or registration on this pilot course, but will want to talk to you about your experience of attending the course.
If you are interested in registering, please reply immediately to this email with your name and a contact phone number where we can reach you. Space is limited to just 15 people, so you will need to act very quickly, as these places will soon be gone. We will expect you to commit to the whole nine weeks. The final week will be a time to pray with you and for you, and to reflect on what we have learned.
For more information about the Film Series and to view the trailers… please visit: www.fullflamemovie.com

Serving you in Jesus,

Mark Oakes
UK Director

Please note ... if you regularly attend a Tuesday night event at your church or fellowship, please continue there. We do not wish to detract from fellowship meetings. Alternative evening courses may be available during 2008.

In the celebration of Black History month in October,Dudley Council Archives and Local History Service is running a 2 day workshop at its centre at Coseley on  !st and 8th October  on the life of George Cozens. George  was a Black Baptist Pastor and evangelist who worked for most of his ministry in Baptist Churches in Netherton, Cradley Heath and Brierley Hill from 1837 to 1879.He came from Jamaica –the son of a sugar planter and had a powerful ministry of seeing many saved and  Churches built up. On the 8th, Dave Watts of Transformations –who is also a Baptist Local preacher is leading the workshop and talking about his life .

An exhibition is being prepared that can be displayed in Churches on request

This not only is an opportunity of witness but also should be of particular interest to African Caribbean Church leaders and members as the first ministry input to the Black Country community by a very gifted Jamaican. Pastor.

Thanks

Dave Watts

Opportunity to invest in new emerging ministry....

Hi,

We're a Black Country based couple working especially with one very beautiful and much misunderstood section of God's estranged family.

We can't go into too much detail in an email because much of the work is sensitive (although details may be available on enquiry.) But we know that those who God will speak to will 'read between the lines' and catch the spirit, our heart, behind this.

Thanks to the Father's leading, we have been able to share the Gospel in places we don't believe it has been shared before, both in this country and abroad.

We believe we are called ultimately to go where there is no Christian witness in the world, but until God's perfect timing comes to fruition we are seeking hisKingdom here in the Black Country and especially among the people group God has blessed us with a burden for.

In order to prepare for our future use abroad, and also to make the most of the contacts and opportunities we have currently, we have been studying another language and seeing many amazing results come from using people's "heart language."

Although much of what God is doing through us is relational, opportunities to serve using art, music and media distribution are also presenting themselves.

For many months now, we have been frustrated at time, work and money contraints that have arguably hindered the attention we can give to our commission. But Father was preparing us for a change, and that change has come in the last few weeks.

Now there is a real and tangible opportunity for the work to expand and weare looking for brothers and sisters to partner with us.

If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch with us via Tim and he will pass your contact details on to us so we can fill you in a bit more to allow you to prayerfully weigh up any action.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

PUTTING RIGHT THE YEARS OF SILENCE: AUTUMN 2007

Together we can Turn the Tide on Abortion in our Nation

Headlines and Points of Action

This autumn the church is facing one of the most critical moments in the fight against abortion in the last 40 years. In October 1967 the Abortion Act received royal assent and abortion was legalised in this country. Since then 6.7 million abortions have taken place in this country, and 465 more are taking place every day.   (how scary is this Black Country Church?? Do we care, and can we claim ignorance if we know about it????)

This October, 40 years after the passing of the Abortion Act, Christians across the nation are standing up and being counted, refusing to be silent about the taking of innocent lives and the trauma that has been caused to women and families who have been affected by abortion. Services of remembrance, repentance and hope are taking place across the nation.

On the anniversary of the Act there will be a rally outside Parliament to demonstrate that the current situation is no longer acceptable. Please join us outside Parliament, at 2pm on 27th October. This is a chance for the church to show we are serious about making a difference, and to make up for the lost time when we have been all too silent on behalf of the unborn child. Please make every effort to attend, and bring the rest of your church with you on this important occasion. We would like to have an idea of numbers – contact libby@ccfon.org or call 0207 4076157 to let us know that you are attending.

Details of various events can be found below and we would urge you to attend the events if you can, or consider organising services in your own area to mark this occasion.

In addition to the anniversary of the Abortion Act, this autumn is likely to see the introduction of the Human Tissue and Embryos (Draft) Bill to Parliament. Not only does this Bill further attack the dignity and value of the human embryo, but it goes to the very core of what it means to be human (by introducing animal-human hybrid embryos), and our understanding of what constitutes family. Not only this, but the introduction of this Bill would reopen the abortion debate in Parliament, and it is expected that amendments to abortion law will be put forward by both pro-life and pro-abortion activists. Further information about the Bill can be found below.

One thing is clear; the coming months present a unique opportunity for Christians to speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves. We would ask you to be alert, be prayerful, and be ready to take action. The tide is beginning to turn in the abortion debate in this country, as more and more people are dissatisfied with high abortion rates, and increasing information is available about the humanity of the embryo. We call upon every church leader and every Christian in our land not to squander this opportunity, but to take a stand for the unborn child.

TERRY LAW IN REGION
Dr Law is a world renowned Evangelist and Teacher. His ministry digs deep into scriptures bringing up a treasure store of instruction and encouragement and at the same time will be reaching out to those present who need to respond to the call of salvation. In every service Christians are ministered to in a special way and people come to accept Christ as Saviour and Lord.

Currently Dr Law will be ministering in churches in your regions, as below, with his good friend General Georges Sada. General Sada is a born again Believer and amazingly, was a former senior advisor to Saddam Hussein. An ace super-sonic fighter pilot trained by elite forces in Great Britain, Russia and America then rose to the rank of Air Vice Marshall. The General disagreed with Saddam at least eighteen times and still lived to tell about it. He saved the lives of over 40 coalition pilots and on two occasions talked Saddam out of bombing Israel with chemical weapons.

I personally know you will be greatly blessed and encouraged to hear General Sada's testimony and his visit would give an opportunity to invite guests to any of the service marked on the flier.

They will also bring a very important report on the Middle East and the work they are doing to reach the Islamic world with the Gospel. It's an very positive and exciting report.

COME AND HEAR THEIR AMAZING STORIES.
