I am sure many of you have heard lots of prophetic type people talk about how significant particular dates, times and even years are. “This is going to be a significant year” is often the declaration at the start of a New Year.
“What makes authentic disciples is not visions, ecstasies, biblical mastery of chapter and verse, or spectacular success in the ministry, but a capacity for faithfulness. Buffeted by the fickle winds of failure, battered by their own unruly emotions and bruised by rejection and ridicule, authentic disciples may have stumbled and frequently fallen, endured lapses and relapses, gotten handcuffed to the fleshpots, and wandered into a far country. Yet they kept coming back to Jesus.
Remember: Imagine, if we could just allow Him to transform something deep down inside of each one of us to view the world from a ‘we and us’ starting point, as opposed to to the traditional, deeply embedded and horribly debilitating paradigm of ‘me and you’ that has strangulated His Body in the Western world for more centuries than Heaven would probably have envisaged.
In Ez 37, we once again see the creatively unifying energy at work as ‘The Body of man’ is re-structured from the inside out, bone, sinew and skin. New men are filled with word and spirit energy as the breath of God enters them and stands them up together.
Our ‘place’ in the centre of God’s plans or Will largely depends on our relationships, not our Gifts or performance. We don’t position ourselves by pleasing, climbing, competing or anything else self-driven.
